About Us

We have a lot to thank our rescue dog for.

Not only is Dina a delight and absolute treasure to have around, but she is the inspiration behind Lead Gear sleeves.

Dina being rescued from the Zoo Dina in the ZooDina came into our lives a timid soul. She was rescued by the Born Free Foundation from a zoo in Romania, and placed into the care of Every Chance Rescue. When Mark and I rehomed her we knew we had a lot of work to do to gain her trust and to help her feel comfortable in her new environment.

With a lot of patience and help from Amichien Dog Listeners, Dina’s confidence soared within our home and eventually we started to venture out on short walks.

Due to her nervous disposition, we always kept her on a lead, but steadily her confidence began to grow.

We avoided popular parks and typical times of the day when people walked their dogs, and all would be well until dog owners allowed their dogs to come running over to us.

Dina in trainingWhen I signalled that I did not wish for their dogs to approach us, more often than not, I received the reply “It’s Ok, my dogs won’t hurt you!”. Now that’s all well and good, but I was trying to help build Dina’s confidence and their dogs really weren’t helping. Whilst we were taking a few steps forward, this would always set us back.

And so the idea of the TRAINING sleeve and sash came about, and thankfully they have worked wonders!

Happy ever afterSome dog owners have even signalled back to say thank you for letting them know that we did not wish to be approached.

With Rescue Centres busting at the seams with mistreated or nervous dogs, we wanted to share our idea so they too can be rehabilitated in peace once they find their forever home.

With our creative juices flowing, we then developed our idea even further and created the REFLECTIVE sleeves and dog collars, and the DESIGN YOUR OWN sleeves.

Like Dina, every dog deserves another chance, which is why for every TRAINING Sleeve and Sash we sell, we give Every Chance Rescue a donation
(£1 per sash and £1 per sleeve).

I sincerely hope you and your dogs benefit as much as we have from our sleeves, sashes and dog collars and look forward to hearing from you.
